August 2-8
My Habitat for Humanity project ended up being in Korat (NE Thailand) instead of Indonesia as planned but it worked out. I was able to join a rehabilitation project for a widowed farmer and her kids. We worked from 8 to 5pm everyday for 5 days and built the house out of cinder blocks and cement with fairly (manual) techniques, which was a very humbling experience. Next, my journey was to Hong Kong and Macau. After being in the countryside for a week, it was a total shock being thrown into the Asian NYC & Las Vegas.
